Vincent Van Gogh lived in Arles from 1888-9. He painted some of his most famous masterpieces here. Paul Gauguin visited Van Gogh in Arles where they stayed together in the Yellow House.  The incident of Van Gogh cutting off his ear occurred in Arles.   Why it happened remains a mystery to this day. Vincent Van Gogh was troubled by mental illness and eventually committed suicide. My special "Vincent Van Gogh in Arles" guided tour introduces visitors to the main themes and events concerning the artist's life and work in the city.
